This wheel is a first level of Wexel. Swipe across the letters and let go: if the word is in the crossword, it fills in.

Swipe across the letters

  1. Swipe the letters

    Drag your finger from letter to letter, or tap them one by one. Each letter on the wheel is used once per word.

  2. Fill in the crossword

    If the word is in the grid, its squares fill in. If it's a real word the level doesn't ask for, it counts as a bonus word.

  3. On to the next one

    Find every word in the grid and the level is done. No timer, no stars, no rush.

How to play with friends

  • Duels with ELO

    One on one over 1 to 5 rounds. Each word is worth its letters: SOPRANO is 7 points and SUN is 3. Matchmaking finds someone at your level.

  • Rooms of up to five

    Open a room, pass on the code or show the QR, and play the same grid with a color each. If whoever opened it drops out, it passes to the next player.

  • The Forge Live

    Two to five on the same wheel, round by round, watching everyone's progress bar. Miss the target and you're out; the first to reach it picks the card for all.

  • Always an opponent

    50 house players, rated 700 to 1600, who play on your phone offline. And if a call pulls you out of an online game, the app offers to take you back in.

The daily challenge: three words, seven tries

Every day at midnight, Madrid time, there are three new hidden five-letter words, all spelled with the same seven letters. Every try has to be a real word.

  • Each letter that lands in its place turns green, and stays.
  • What you learn about one word helps with the other two.
  • A word is found when you play exactly that word.
  • Something that is not a word costs no try.

    A hint reveals one letter in the grid. It never punishes you: it breaks no streak and costs no level.

Can I play without internet?

Yes. The daily challenge, the word wheel, the growing wheel, The Forge on your own and duels against the house all work offline. See what works offline.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play everything without signing up. An account, with your email or Google, backs up your progress and lets you play duels under your own name.

When does the daily challenge change?

At midnight, Madrid time, for everyone at once. Past days can be played as practice, but they do not score. More on the daily challenge.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet: for now Wexel is Android only, on Google Play.
